Good morning, i just want to update everyone with regards to the home cooked meals delivery service & also the essential food supplies delivery service I have advertised recently on social media.I am getting increasing numbers of local elderly, vulnerable & high risk residents who are currently self isolating, some of who have been doing so for a week or more.These groups of people have found it increasingly difficult to gather supplies as the supermarkets are being stripped bare & the home delivery slots online are being booked up in advance, meaning not even family members are able to help gather supplies for them! I know many supermarkets are taking steps to address these issues.Many of you will know from watching the daily Coronavirus updates on the BBC that the army are now being drafted in to help with delivering food & essential supplies to all of those effected. I can only imagine that it will take time to implement this service as it will need to be rolled nationwide out on a scale never attempted before!!!In light of all of the above, I have made the decision to focus my attention on the many local elderly, vulnerable & high risk residents who are self isolating with serious medical conditions. I will no longer be offering the home cooked food delivery service, or the essential food supplies delivery service to the general public as a whole.So please ONLY get in touch via direct message if you have any members within your family unit who is elderly, vulnerable, high risk, or self isolating with underlying medical conditions outlined on the WHO website.I completely understand that many of these local residents will not see this message & aren’t on social media, so I am encouraging anyone who may have a neighbour, or family member in a vulnerable position to pass on the contact number which is 01747 835363.I must stress that I will no longer be offering the home cooked meals, or essential food supplies delivery service to the general public.At the moment I am currently working on my own & I can only stretch myself so far! I have taken this decision to limit my social contact with other people for the sake of my own family & also the residents I am already helping. I really appreciate the amount of friends & people on social media who have offered their help delivering, but I have made the decision that I don’t want anyone coming in & out of my premises & potentially putting an end to the service if god forbid I become infected myself.Please accept my apologies for my U turn on the services I offered, but as I’m sure you can all imagine the Situation is evolving on a daily basis.Please can I ask that anyone locally shares this post to try & target as many people who may be in need as possible!Many thanks & best regardsAndy @Meek’s Catering ...
